How to Get a Visa: A Russian Student visa can be given only with an invitation from a Russian educational institution that will take care of important formalities. A visa to study in Russia can be prolonged as many times as required for the studies. You are not allowed to work with a Russian Student visa unless you find a position within the educational institution where you are going to study in. The process of acquainting visa to study in Russia may take a month and a half.

The only inconvenience in having a student visa while studying in Russia is that every time you leave the country you will have to ask your educational institution to issue you an exit visa.
