Moving to another country is a life-changing event. Getting adapted to many new things is easy for some people, and hard for the others. Various factors can play an important part in your adaptation to the new place.
Primary factors
Getting used to the new language, weather, lifestyle, and many other factors is important. Such things as local radio and TV can put you on a fast track of learning the foreign language, culture and current events. You also need to get used to the new behavioral manners and the way people interact with each other. Every nationality has its own personality and temperament. If you are not ready for these everyday emotional changes, you need to reconsider moving to another country.
New language
The only advice for achieving good communication in a foreign country is: Study, study and study the language. The more you practice your language skills, the more satisfied you will be when you communicate. Many of those moving to another country experience almost despair and disappointment when simple ideas that they could express in their own language cannot be expressed in a new one. That is why regular practice of your speech will help you defeat the fear of communication and break the language barrier.
New religion
New country in most cases means new religion. And while it is quite easy to stand aside from people of a different religion if you want to, it is harder to avoid them when you have new friends or when you are going to live in a house with religious people. And why should you avoid anyone because of their religion? It is Ok if you do not share their religious views but respect and are tolerant to them.
Old friends, new friends
Many of those moving to another country notice the same tendency in their lives. While old friends left behind in the country of origin gradually lose their interest and go on with their lives, new friends are not that easy to make. However, this is also a good test for a real friendship. While true friends still keep in touch and come to visit, false friends may become envious, greedy (asking for things from a foreign country) or simply disappear. New friends are always hard to find in a new country because the most faithful friends are usually made during childhood and adolescence, and this is not the age when most people engage in moving to another country.
