Italian People and Russian Girls

Italians and Russians have a lot in common. Here are some general similarities and differences between Italian people and Russians that Russian girls who visit and live in Italy shared with us.

Italians are Cheerful Russians

Russians and Italians are very alike. However if there is one big difference between them it is that Italian people seem much more sociable and friendly in their communication and attitude towards friends. That is why they sometimes say:  “Italians are cheerful Russians”. Many people explain it by differences in climate and life standards. Sunny and warm Italy shows in the disposition of its people, but cold and frosty Russia makes people more reserved and cautious.

As Unpredictable and Illogical as Russians

Italian logical thinking is very illogical to a Western mind, which is just like Russian. It is actually very logical to Italian people themselves, but takes a deeper understanding of the culture in general to see it. The same with Russians. Something that may seem inconsequent to the others, can be absolutely normal and justified to a Russian mind.

As Unlawful as Russians

In Russia it is common thing to evade laws, bribe and negotiate deals with officials. It is mostly due to the fact that Russian bureaucracy prevents people from doing most things in an easy and legal way. Russian girls that visit Italy notice that this is a common problem for both countries. That is why Italian people are likely go beyond the law in Italy too.

“Subconscious Patriotism”

Another trait that makes Russians and Italians alike is that  most of them can complain about their country but will never allow you to criticize it. Italian people often express their irritation and disgust with their country, politics and current events. However, when a foreigner complains about Italian nation, they will start defending it. Their strongest patriotism can probably be witnessed at Football games and championships.

Mother's Sons

Another difference between Italian and Russian people lies in the family ties. People in Russia become independent and mature very early. In Italy, however, family ties are so strong and unavoidable that a man may actually never leave his parent's family even if he creates his own. Which situation is good and which one is bad? No one knows. But for Russian girls used to independent men and early-maturing children, it is very surprising to see 5-6-year old kids in diapers and pacifiers, or grown-up men living in the same house with their parents.
