Any person who puts a dating profile on dating sites, has to post pictures to attract other people. There are many things that a picture can tell you about its owner.

       Usually men notice beautiful faces and slim bodies in swimming suits, and that is when they make the first mistake. Just ask yourself for a second: what is this girl with such appearance doing on dating sites instead of going out with her friends and meeting men in real life? There can be four reasons for her to be looking for men on dating sites:

        She is actually a real person and just happened to be beautiful. However, how come she doesn't find someone at work, at school, and needs to have a dating profile to find a partner? She may be quite shy and reticent in real life, while online dating helps her open up and relax. Or she may be a foreigner who is determined to move and start a new life somewhere else, instead of dating local guys from her country.

        She is not very pretty and she uses pictures of not-so-well-known actresses or models, hoping that some man will fall in love with her personality, and she will tell him the secret later.

        She is a scammer with a harrowing story about her sick grandma which she sends to many guys on dating sites. She is just trying to get your attention with a nice picture and is out there hunting for your money.

        Or she is real, pretty and sexy, but she created a dating profile to find a rich sponsor rather than a life-time relationship.

       So when choosing someone by picture, don't fall for extremely beautiful, perfect shots. Here are some other things you may notice when meeting people on dating sites.

       Some people post low-quality close-ups of their faces taken with a cell-phone or a camera of low resolution. The person either simply doesn't have another camera or is not comfortable with showing you the background and the conditions he/she lives in.

       Profile and half profile pictures (as apposed to full face pictures) when the person is not looking directly on the camera show that their owners are confident about themselves and truly believe that they are attractive.

       When a guy posts a lot of pictures with different girls in a dating profile, or a girl posts pictures with different guys, it shows their insecurity: the person doesn't really have a partner and that bothers him/her a lot.

       Pictures with parents or relatives are very rare and indicate strong family values and willingness to find someone for a marriage.
